Lindsey Research Services has completed thousands of research and document retrieval requests at NHTSA over the past two decades. We know where documents are stored. We know the personnel to ask. We provide the information our clients need in a fraction of the time it would take to obtain otherwise. Some examples of the information we provide include the following:

Office of Defect Investigation (ODI) Complaints, Recalls and Investigations Database searches
Lindsey Research Services has developed its own search engine of the ODI databases. We provide customized daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual reports utilizing our searches that far exceed the capabilities of the current search options available to the public. We can tell you the number of complaints ODI received on any particular topic during any specific time period with respect to vehicle make and or model. Our clients can compare one vehicle to other similar vehicles, regarding complaints received.
We have in house, or can obtain copies of these complaints, investigations and/or recalls starting from NHTSA’s formation in 1966.
Technical Information Services
Both industry and government agencies use Lindsey Research Services as subject matter experts regarding NHTSA documentation. We have spent thousands of hours researching, reviewing and copying the Technical Information Services collection of data. The original dockets are on microfiche and offer insight into government and manufacturers comments to the early development of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). We provide a complete review of what is available in the older dockets. This is one of the many services that has established Lindsey Research Services as an invaluable resource when doing research and document retrieval at NHTSA.

Other Government Agencies
Lindsey Research Services provides research and document retrieval services from Government agencies throughout Washington, DC, Virginia, and Maryland. Our staff has forged relationships with agency personnel that enable us to obtain difficult to locate subject matter documents. The advantage of going or sending someone in person to various agencies has proved to be a valuable resource for our clients.
